EGYPT ADVENTURES 2015
ABYDOS TEMPLE & HOUSE OF LIFE CENTER

We leave Habu Hotel at 6AM to avoid active check points as it is forbidden for tourists to take the desert road.  I am in the back of a small van the curtains drawn with instructions to lie down in the seat if I am told to do so and, if questioned, I am the drivers wife!!!  Fortunately he is an older guy, so it is plausible.

Abydos Temple of Seti I
An uneventful (no need to lie down or claim to be a wife) 2 hour drive later we arrive at Abydos.  I am the first and only one at the temple.  I love this temple because of its many rooms and alcoves and unusual carvings on the walls.
One Of The MoreUnusual Carvings
Here is where all but a few cartouches of the ancient kings are carved along the walls leading out to the Osiron.  The Osiron was there when Seti I built this temple and it is not known who built the Osiron.  Found below the level of the temple it is supposed to be a holy place for the god Osiris, but nobody knows how old it is.
Osiron From Above

I take the path to above it and sit on a rock absorbing the atmosphere.  Soon I am joined by two of the temple keepers.  Gesturing to the barbed wire closing the wooden staircase leading down into the Osiron, I ask to go down.  I offer baksheesh (money) and they nod yes, take off the barbed wire and down I go accompanied by their "boss".

On one of the pillars is carved the Flower of Life.  It is extremely difficult to see and photograph from above, so I am excited to be able to do so from below.  I am surprised to see there are actually three of them!!!   One is better than the other two.
Flower Of Life - Best One To The Left
The Flower of Life plays an important part in the Merkaba Meditation technique I learned a few years ago.

After leaving the temple I asked Mohamed if he knows where the new hotel called House of Life is located.
Down In The Osiron
He does so, after having coffee and tea, we set out on foot to visit.  This hotel is the realized dream of a man called Horus who, as a little boy, studied under Om Sety.  For me to go into who she was would take many more blogs.  Briefly, she was an English woman who had visitations from Seti I as a former lover from her past life in Egypt, specifically Abydos.  She spent many years there escorting visitors through the temple and offering healing.   If you wish to know more,  I leave you to google her or to look up the book titled In Search of Om Sety.

This hotel/retreat offers courses in Ancient Egyptian Healing Arts, as well as offering healing modalities like meditation, massage, sound healing, sand healing, and much more.  Most of it is still under construction, and is soon to be finished.  We were given a tour and I must say I was very impressed.  I would dearly love to take the Ancient Egyptian Healing course and maybe someday I will.  If you are curious go to www.houseoflifeabydos.com to learn more about it.

Below is a picture of the entrance to the hotel and healing center.
Flower Of Life Center
The artist who is painting the pillars and all of the front was working while we watched.  He is truly magnificent in creating the building as it would have looked in ancient times in all the blindingly beautiful colors.

Much Love To You All,
Mom/Grandma Syrup/Sara
